The lower screws on the sissy bar are below the top of the fender. That turns a 10 minute job into an hour. You will need to remove your leather bags, remove the posts that your bags mount to and tilt back the sissy bar and brackets. The screws that hold the sissy bar on are cheap and installed with a ton of locktite. You will likely not be able to remove all four of them with a torx bit. I managed to get two of the four removed with a torx bit and the other two had to be removed with a small pair of channel locks grabbing the outside edge of the screws. Throw the old screws away, they're junk, the new ones that come with the kit are better - and also use a larger size bit.
Depending on what tools you are using, you may also have to remove the license plate bracket. I had just enough room with the tools I had to get the bottom screws installed with the luggage rack all the way back to the license plate frame.
